Lesson Summary
A beginning practice offered by Robert Augustus Masters involves exploring your shadow elements by completing spontaneous sentences. Here's how the practice works:
- Finish the incomplete sentences aloud and then write down your immediate responses.
- Revisit your responses and add any further insights that come to mind.
- Reflect on the prompts provided:
- Something in me I often feel aversion toward
- The emotion I am least comfortable expressing
- What I find hard to admit in an argument
- The aspect I am most hesitant to express in a relationship
- What I least want others to know about me
- Admitting that I am...
- My response when feeling shame
- What I tend to judge others for
- When I give my power away
- These responses can reveal elements likely residing in your shadow, partially or fully.
- Embrace the process of looking inside with curiosity and without seeking immediate clarity.
Turning towards your shadow allows for a deeper understanding of yourself and fosters ongoing self-discovery.
